tgclub Posting Guidelines

So far tgclub has resisted imposing posting rules on members, preferring instead to rely on the less restrictive approach of letting members use their own sensible judgement to engage in meaningful and polite exchanges. We still have every confidence in our members ability to do this. So please see this list of guidelines as additional reminders rather  than as rules.

Messages SHOULD:

  •   help someone
  •   make someone smile (laughing with, not at)
  • make someone thankful
  • be of interest
  •   promote cross-cultural understanding
  •   focus on issues, not individuals

NO message should:

  •  hurt anyone
  • focus on individuals instead of issues
  • carry spam or advertising, virus warnings, chain letters, or referral bonus schemes
It is also ENCOURAGED that members:
  • introduce themselves to the Group if they are posting for the first time

  • ask useful questions
  • quote only the relevant part of the message you are answering to; by
  • cutting out the irrelevant portions, you show consideration to others,
  • especially those
  • with a slower connection or in a digest mode
  • take private issues offlist
  • add “. . . /name” to the subject line if responding to an
  • individual but the message may be of interest to the group
